Abstract
In the present investigation, sublingual tablets were prepared using solid dispersion by physical mixture method having β- Cyclodextrin as solubility enhancer and sodium starch glycolate as super disintegrant, which gives rapid onset of action. By using the direct compression technique to prepare the tablet formulation. A central composite design was composed in which the amount of sodium starch glycolate (X1) and PVP K-30 (X2) were chosen as the independent variables and the dependent variables were disintegration time (Y1) in seconds and In- vitro % drug release (Y2) in percentage. Various parameters i.e., hardness, friability, thickness, weight variation, wetting time, and water absorption ratio were determined for the prepared tablets. It was observed that the SLT4 formulation shows a disintegration time of 60 sec. and in- vitro % drug release with 96.36% shown in 15 minutes, which shows that the sublingual route can be the option for the administration of Eletriptan hydrobromide.
